Inspect and Control a Service
A service called sentry.service is installed on this machine but isn't running. Start it, make sure it comes back after a reboot, and confirm both. Everything here needs sudo; your password is student.
How it works: the terminal below is a real Linux machine running in your browser. Click it and
type. Tasks tick themselves off as you complete them; questions are answered in the box under each task.
Press Reset any time for a fresh machine. Your password on this machine (for
sudo) is student.
Hints
start affects now; enable affects boot.
systemctl enable --now sentry would do both in one command.
Solution explanation
is-active reports inactive before you start it. sudo systemctl start sentry runs it now (so is-active becomes active), and sudo systemctl enable sentry links it into the boot sequence (so is-enabled becomes enabled). Running now and starting at boot are two separate settings.
Show solution
systemctl is-active sentry
sudo systemctl start sentry
systemctl is-active sentry
sudo systemctl enable sentry
systemctl is-enabled sentry
