Fix the services
The branch should have names (DNS server 10.1.1.50 handed out by DHCP), synchronised time from R2 (10.0.12.2), and logs of severity warnings and worse on NMS. Users say names don't work, the network team says R1's clock is wrong, and NMS receives no logs at all. Find and fix every fault.
How it works: this is VulnTech NetLab, a network simulator running in your browser. Click a device in the diagram to open its console and type commands, just like on real equipment (? shows help, Tab finishes a word). Click a cable to inspect it. Tasks tick themselves off as you complete them; questions are answered in the box under each task. Your work is kept if you reload; Reset starts the network over.
Solution explanation
Three faults. The DHCP pool handed out 10.1.1.5 as DNS server (nobody is there), so lookups timed out; after fixing the pool, the PCs need to renew. The NTP server address had two digits swapped (10.0.21.2), so R1 never synchronised: show ntp associations shows no * and reach 0. And the trap level was emergencies (0), so nothing normal is ever bad enough to send.
