Fix the static routes

NetLab lab Advanced 4 tasks 30 points

Someone set up static routes across the three sites, but PC1 can't reach PC3 and it can't reach the 172.16.2.1 loopback on R2 either. Find and fix every fault. Keep the design: default routes on R1 and R3, one route per LAN on R2.

How it works: this is VulnTech NetLab, a network simulator running in your browser. Click a device in the diagram to open its console and type commands, just like on real equipment (? shows help, Tab finishes a word). Click a cable to inspect it. Tasks tick themselves off as you complete them; questions are answered in the box under each task. Your work is kept if you reload; Reset starts the network over.

Solution explanation

Three faults. R1's default route pointed to 10.0.12.6, which isn't on R1's 10.0.12.0/30 link, so the route was never installed (show ip route static showed nothing). R2's route for PC3's LAN had a typo: 192.168.30.0 instead of 192.168.3.0. And R3 had no route at all, so PC3 couldn't reply: the ping to PC3 failed even after R1 and R2 were fixed.
